Stimulated Mandel'shtam-Brillouin scattering on backward acoustic waves in photoelastic piezoelectric plates
Abstract
Consideration is given to stimulated Mandel'shtam-Brillouin scattering on backward acoustic waves in a piezoelectric plate. Increments of instability are calculated for waves in an isotropic plate configuration. In the case of asymmetrical acoustic waves, the instability increment of the scattering was higher than in the symmetric mode. Numerical estimates of the instability are obtained for plates made of LiNbO3.
