ARSPNS: A method to calculate steady and unsteady potential flow about fixed and rotational lifting and nonlifting bodies
Abstract
A panel method for the calculation of steady and time-linearized unsteady incompressible potential flow about arbitrary lifting and nonlifting bodies in an arbitrary mean steady flow field, including rotation is described. Applications to wind turbines including the effects of tipvanes were made. An integation scheme for obtaining the loads which contain implicitly the suction force in the case of a lifting surface approximation and which should improve the drag prediction in a full body approximation is applied.
