Computer assisted measurement techniques in Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA). Part 1: Data acquisition. Part 2: Data reduction
Abstract
The role of computers as part of the instrumentation in laser Doppler anemometry is reviewed. It is shown that no useful configuration of such an anemometer can be set up without powerful computer assistance. Computer utilization in data acquisition with counter processors, transient recorders and photon correlators is examined. The optimum use of the anemometer requires also computerized control of various parts of the system, such as filter banks and traverse systems.
