Eulerian transport in general orthogonal curvilinear coordinates
Abstract
Eulerian fluid transport in general orthogonal curvilinear coordinates is calculated in the KEYSTONE code. Prescriptions are given for the volume and area calculations that allow for the curvature of the zones, as well as the complications introduced by extreme aspect ratios of the zone sizes. Singularities in the mesh are considered, and metrics are obtained from a numerically specified mesh. Many of the demonstrated techniques are independent of the coordinate system and could be used in standard Lagrangian codes.
