Internal Side-looking Airborne Radar (SLAR) calibration
Abstract
A one-point internal calibration in a SLAR was developed. Radiometric calibration is necessary if the SLAR is used for remote sensing applications. The calibration signal was injected between the T/R cell (a switch to protect the mixer/preamplifier combination against transmission pulse overcharges) and the mixer using a delay line to abolish the impact of the T/R switching time. Measurements show good results.
