Imaging and sounding instruments in the spin stabilized version of the second generation Meteosat
Abstract
The preliminary study of Meteosat imaging and sounding instruments is presented. The analysis shows to what extent it is possible to develop the design of the actual radiometer including the improving of the telescope, the passive radiator, image fixing, focus adjustment, and scanning modes. The solutions presented allow an improved performance without using unproved technologies. The concepts include combining both instruments with a single telescope or to design them separately.
