Video guidebook. Proceedings of the First Symposium on the Applications of Laboratory X-ray lasers

On February 17 to 19, 1985 approximately three dozen scientists working in the areas of microbiology, surface and solid state physics, X-ray lithography, plasma physics, short wavelength lasers, and X-ray optics assembled at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California. Details of microbiology, X-ray holography, and atomic physics were exchanged. There were 15 hours of formal sessions. The overall group was divided into three panels: micromechanics, microbiology, and surface and solid state physics. After a series of X-ray laser briefings given on the morning of February 18, the symposium was turned over to the panels and their chairmen. The proceedings was formed from video tapes of the formal discussions.
