Simulation of the transmission behavior of a glass fiber section, exclusively with the help of a simulation program system for the analysis of electronic circuits
Abstract
The simulation of the transmission behavior of a glass fiber transmission section using a digital computer, and the required preparations are described. The simulation was performed only with the help of a program system for the analysis of electronic circuits. The starting points for the simulation were the circuit plans of the emitter and receiver electronics, and the results of measurements on parts of the section. Calculations were performed to experimentally demonstrate the possibility of a section simulation with the chosen simulation procedure. The calculations show that processes which are difficult to measure or inaccessible to measurements can be represented and evaluated by the present simulation. The calculated results agree with practical results.
