Activities and results report for the special domain 210
Abstract
Interaction between flows and structures was studied. Numerical simulation of laminar flows about and over obstacles was performed. Wind channel modeling of flow about orographic obstacles and structures, mathematical simulation of the flow system cooling tower-wind field, and instability and motion induced vibrations of up and downstream structures were investigated. The loading of cylindrical structures due to natural wind, and its wind channel modeling, and the resistance behavior and flow about rectangular bodies in turbulent boundary layers were studied. The dynamics of unsteady flow in freely laid pipes was mathematically simulated. Measuring criteria for flocculation reactors and the influence of flow parameters on physiochemical reactions were examined. Flow and sedimentation phenomena in setting tanks were calculated. Miniature laser Doppler systems based on light guides were studied.
