Sun acquisition sensor for European Communications Satellite
Abstract
A development program for a Sun acquisition sensor with 7yr in-orbit life and 5yr storage in a clean room is outlined. The design proposes P-type silicon (10 ohm/cm), nongold solder contacts, glass epoxy boards, and silicones for attaching windows to chip and chip to board. Radiation damage, raw materials, qualification tests, and packing are discussed.
