Hybrid 0D,1D, and 2D model of helical explosivedriven magnetic flux compression generator
Abstract
A hybrid code model of the Sandia National Laboratories' model 632 is described is introduced. A very large explosive driven magnetic flux compression generator. This involves the use of two codes. The first is a coupled 0D equivalent circuit model and 1D magnetohydrodynamic computation. The second is the 2D materials response code, CSQ. This is used to obtain an equivalent drag coefficient so that the 2D stator coil conductor encapsulent interaction can be modeled in the 1D code.
