Time comparisons using the Global Positioning System (GPS). Method and first results obtained using the DFVLR C/A receiver
Abstract
A Global Positioning System receiver was developed and used to compare times of an atomic clock in West Germany with the master clock in Washington. Equipment and data processing steps are described. Results show that accuraries of 20 nsec are obtained. Frequency comparisons show that the fluctuations of the frequency deviation remain 2 to the minus 14th power after 1 week.
