Experimental studies of the performance of flexural waveguides using methods of holographic interferometry
Abstract
A holographic interferometry study is made of flexural waveguides of rectangular cross-section made of an Al-Mg alloy. In particular, attention is given to the oscillations of generally homogeneous waveguides with inhomogeneities in the form of holes and attached mass, with flexural oscillations excited by means of an ultrasonic oscillatory system. Quantitative experimental data are presented on the amplitudes and oscillatory shift distributions of homogeneous and inhomogeneous waveguides. The results obtained are compared with theoretical predictions.
