Winter National Design Engineering Show and Conference, Anaheim, CA, December 11-13, 1985, Conference Talks
Abstract
Papers are presented on an interactive computer package for the design of spur and helical gears; helical spring and analysis software for m icrocomputers; the principles, justification and cost-benefits of CAD/CAM selection; technology transfer management; and materials processing in space. Topics discussed include the control of pneumatic noise in the workplace, the networking of micro CAD/CAM, finite element techniques for composite transmission shafts, finite-element thermal analysis of a resistive bus conduction with a joint interface, and the use of a two-dimensional finite element for optimal design. Consideration is given to data collection systems for the design engineer, tolerancing application for CAD, the commercial use of space, and the use of engineering management to reduce the risks of R&D.
