Size-velocity correlation measurements of large drops in a turbulent air flow
Abstract
A standard LDA arrangement, slightly modified, is used to measure the simultaneous size and velocity distributions, as well as their statistical correlation, in a water spray issuing from an air assist nozzle. The experimental profiles give a good idea of the two-phase flow organization and can supply a drop diffusion model in a turbulent air stream with suitable input data.
