Pulse shaper with a coaxial capacitor

The constraints on the parameters of pulse shapers with coaxial capacitors are determined with reference to the design of free-electron lasers. It is proposed that active output filters be used to correct the discharge of the storage capacitor across the diode. The proposed approach makes it possible to utilize a higher percentage of the charging voltage and to produce pulses with flat tops.
