New approximations and findings of theory of nonlinear acoustic beams
Abstract
Approaches to the solution of problems arising in the theory of nonlinear propagation effects of high-intensity spatially localized acoustic waves are addressed. A modified theory is proposed that provides more complete information about nonlinear diffraction processes in acoustic beams. The domains of applicability of the first and second approximations are identified. The determination of peak values is explained.
