Internal conditions for self excitation of superconductor DC generators
Abstract
Relationships were developed for self-contained dc generators describing the conditions for the self-excitation in the case of parallel and series connections of the inductor winding made of the type 2 superconductor. The Hurwitz stability criteria were applied for the analysis of equations describing the electromagnetic process, and the conditions for the existence and stability of the mode which would be established after the excitation. The validity of the method was verified experimentally using results obtained for similar phenomena with conventional dc generators.
