Spectra of incidental interference resulting from nonlinear conversion of signals from transmitters
Abstract
The interference spectrum resulting from nonlinear conversion of signals from n transmitters with single-band modulation, the most common kind of modulation, is evaluated on the basis of a quantitative correlation analysis. The characteristic of the nonlinear converter is approximated with a finite power series. It is shown that the width of the spectrum of incidental interference is readily calculated for each signal harmonic and any number of signals (transmitters) producing intermodulation interference.
