Error probability during optimal noncoherent reception of binary signals in multibeam channel
Abstract
A general expression is derived for the error probability during noncoherent reception of discrete signals in channels with both fast and slow fading. The fast fading is approximated with an m-distribution (m sub 1 corresponds to a Rayleigh distribution) and the slow fading is assumed to have a log normal distribution, the latter also readily approximated with an m-distribution. The error probability is also a function of the approximation error.
