Suboptimal method for the synthesis of SAW filters
Abstract
A suboptimal synthesis approach for SAW filters is proposed in which a substantial reduction in optimization time is achieved through a reduction in the number of optimized variables with a negligible deterioration in approximation quality. The suboptimal solution is practically identical to the optimal one in the filter passband and is of practically the same quality with respect to the level of out-of-band attenuation. The proposed approach is particularly applicable to the synthesis of narrow-band filters with a high rectangularity factor.
