Method for calculating rectangular corrugated waveguides
Abstract
The paper describes a method for the approximate determination of the primary-mode critical frequencies and the fundamental-mode attenuation coefficient in a rectangular corrugated waveguide. The method is based on a precise calculation of the corrugation effect on phase and attenuation coefficients in a circular corrugated waveguide and the extension of the results to a rectangular corrugated waveguide. Experimental results (for frequencies of 5.2 and 10.26 GHz) are presented which show that the derived analytical expressions are suitable for practical calculations.
