Method for calculating maximum observable frequencies for the two-hop propagation of decameter radio waves
Abstract
It is demonstrated experimentally that the accuracy of the calculation of the maximum observable frequencies of the two-hop propagation of decameter waves can be enhanced by determining the hop lengths from the condition of the equality of the maximum applicable frequencies on each hop. The features of signal formation are investigated, and recommendations on the selection of maximum observable frequencies for communication and direction finding systems involving two-hop propagation (double reflection from the F2-layer) are presented.
