Calculation of the mode spectrum of multilayer dielectric structures
Abstract
A diffraction algorithm is proposed for the analysis of the natural-mode spectrum of multilayer shielded dielectric structures which are used as transmission lines for integrated circuits in the millimeter, submillimeter, and optical ranges. The dispersion equation is expressed through the S-matrices characterizing the diffraction of natural modes by junctions of partial regions. The algorithm, realized in a FORTRAN-IV program system, is applied to the example of a shielded rectangular dielectric waveguide.
