Choice of parameters for an improved Cassegrain antenna
Abstract
The diffraction problem is analyzed for a horn having a small reflector in the form of a hyperboloid with a cone in the central part. The solution is obtained by reducing the problem to rigorous integrodifferential equations. The choice of parameters for correcting part of the reflecting surface of the large reflector is considered, and the influence of the cone apex angle on the antenna characteristics (the gain and sidelobe level) is assessed.
