Digital FM signal transmission experiment via the CS satellite
Abstract
Satellite loop-back experiments using the CS have been performed in order to investigate the transmission characteristics of the digital FM signal through the nonlinear transponder. The results show the same performance as those found in IF loop-back tests. The difference in the BER performance between the theoretical and experimental results was within 0.5 dB in the carrier to noise power ratio. The experimental results show that the BER performance of the digital FM transmission is not particularly degraded even when the transponder works in the nonlinear region.
