Diffraction of an H-polarized Gaussian beam by a metallic screen with two rectangular grooves
Abstract
An analytical formula for the scattering cross section is obtained in the narrow-groove approximation for the diffraction of a two-dimensional H-polarized Gaussian beam by an infinite metallic screen with two rectangular grooves. Calculations are compared with experimental data, and conditions are found under which the beam scattering is minimal, making it possible to optimize quasi-optical oscillators. It is noted that the results obtained can be used in solid-state electronics and millimeter-wave radio spectroscopy.
