Nonlinear theory of IMPATT diodes with a wide avalanche layer
Abstract
The paper develops a nonlinear theory of IMPATT diodes, describing the avalanche-formation process with allowance for carrier-transfer effects which play an important role in millimeter-wave diodes. In this theory, the dynamic characteristics of the IMPATT diode are described by a system of algebraic equations solvable on a computer with standard programs.
