Investigation of the fine structure of diffraction radiation at millimeter wavelengths. I
Abstract
Conditions for the excitation of diffraction radiation (DR) by longitudinal and transverse electron waves in a modulated electron beam above a diffraction grating are analyzed. A quasi-optic measuring system has been developed for investigating the effect of electron waves on millimeter-wavelength DR. The 'cold' simulation of DR excitation by a monochromatic electron beam was carried out.
