Investigation of waves in a rectangular waveguide filled with a lossy layered dielectric
Abstract
The characteristics of normal-mode conversion with changes of the parameters of dielectric layers in a rectangular waveguide are studied by solving the dispersion equation by the continuation method. A criterion for ordering the roots of the dispersion equation is proposed, and a relationship is established between mode-conversion effects and changes in the field distribution over the waveguide cross-section.
