Effect of an ideally conducting metal on the resonant interaction of magnetostatic waves with bulk elastic waves in a thin-film ferrite structure
Abstract
The paper examines the dispersion equation for coupled dipole magnetostatic (MW) and elastic (EW) waves in a tangentially magnetized layered ferrite structure loaded with a metal. It is shown that changes in the dispersion and increases in the MW losses arising at magnetoelastic resonance frequencies (MRF) can be controlled by varying the thickness of the dielectric gap between the ferrite and the metal. In addition, it is demonstrated that an MW in the inverse dispersion region at MRF experiences strong absorption as the result of the excitation of elastic waves traveling in the opposite direction.
