Gyromagnetic perturbation of a slow-wave structure in a millimeter-band maser
Abstract
A formula is presented describing the effect of a ferrite plate on the wave propagation constant in a periodic comb-type slow-wave structure in a traveling-wave maser. The formula takes into account the geometry of the unperturbed structure, and the location, dimensions, and magnetic properties of the ferrite plate. It is shown that the calculation results agree with experimental results in the 6-mm band.
