Space-time response of an acoustooptic system to a complex radio signal
Abstract
Light diffraction in an acoustooptic system of dispersion-time type is analyzed theoretically. It is shown that the amplitude of the space response of the system varies as the square of the envelope A(t) of the input AM-FM signal, while the center of the response shifts depending on the FM type. This result can be used to develop acoustooptic devices for the analysis of dispersion-type signals, intended for the determination of the frequency-time structure of complex radio signals.
