Effect of magnetic-field profile on the output characteristics of an M-type amplifier
Abstract
The effect of jumpwise changes in magnetic field on the electronic efficiency of a planar M-type amplifier is assessed theoretically, taking into account the effect of the jump magnitude and its location. It is shown that magnetic-field increases lead to an increase in the electronic efficiency and hence the total efficiency of the device. An alternation of magnetic-field decreases and increases to the output of the tube makes it possible to increase the amplifier efficiency without experiencing a decrease (or while even producing an increase) in gain.
