Propagation of a surface acoustic shear wave in the presence of roughness at the boundary
Abstract
A dispersion equation is obtained for a surface electroacoustic shear wave propagating along a rough boundary of a hexagonal-symmetry crystal. This equation makes it possible to determine the velocity and damping of the wave as a function of the type and character of the roughness. It is shown that consideration of the boundary roughness leads to a complex modification of the dispersion equation of the wave.
