Statistical characteristics of a laser signal propagating in a turbulent atmosphere on a path with reflection
Abstract
The energy statistics of a reflected signal recorded by a direct-photodetection receiver are obtained on the basis of an approximate representation of complex phase describing, in the framework of the Huygens-Kirchhoff method, the propagation of laser radiation in a turbulent atmosphere. A relationship is established linking these statistics with parameters characterizing the propagation conditions of the laser radiation in the turbulent atmosphere as well as with the diffraction parameters of the receiving and transmitting systems.
