Low-frequency antennas in magnetoplasmas (Review)
Abstract
The published literature concerning theoretical and experimental studies of low-frequency electric and magnetic antennas used as radiators and sensors in magnetoplasmas is reviewed. Particular attention is given to the calculation of input impedance, radiation impedance, and directivity patterns, as well as to the influence of the thermal motion of plasma particles and nonlinear effects on the antenna characteristics. The goal of the review is to suggest ways to solve specific engineering problems.
