Emission of relativistic electron-oscillators in different potential troughs
Abstract
Angular and spectral distribution of the emission of electrons oscillating in a reflective triode system is described in terms of electron energy in an effort to study the processes governing the production of microwave radiation by a relativistic electron beam. The results indicate that the angular distribution resembles, for the most part, the emission of a linear oscillator, with even a greater similarity existing in the presence of an ion flux. At electron energies of less than 2 MeV the maximum emission corresponds to the first harmonic of electron oscillation frequency. Directivity diagrams and dependences of emission intensity of a linear oscillator on electron energy are included.
