Physical manifestations in a cylindrical metal-dielectric resonator and problems associated with the design of shielded dielectric resonators
Abstract
Consideration is given to the design of a microwave resonator optimal with respect to such parameters as the energy factor, mass, physical dimensions, and spectrum density. Natural oscillation characteristics are computed for a model object in the form of a cylindrical metal-dielectric resonator. It is found that certain dimensions of the shielding are associated with the locking of the electromagnetic energy within the dielectric. A shielding principle is formulated for dielectric resonators.
