Surface acoustic wave transducer design with capacitive weighting of electrodes by the equivalent circuit method
Abstract
A method for the design of opposing-pin transducers of surface acoustic waves (SAW) is presented, based on an equivalent-circuit model. Amplitude-frequency characteristics of a wideband filter are computed for a transducer of specified parameters and compared with experimental characteristics measured in a 75-ohm channel; the losses introduced into the filter pass band are within 2 dB from the theoretical values. It is emphasized that the model correctly reflects the oscillations associated with the re-emission of SAW by the transducer.
