Stimulated emission from a high-current electron beam in an undulator under conditions of cyclotron resonance with a combination wave
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results are presented on stimulated emission from a high-current electron beam moving in spatially periodic transverse and uniform longitudinal magnetic fields under conditions of cyclotron resonance with a combination wave. In the experiment, an electron beam with an energy of 0.75 MeV and a current of 5-10 kA was generated with the Tonus-1 accelerator gun. Satisfactory agreement was obtained between theoretical results and experimental observations of excitation conditions, interaction length, and emission efficiency.
