Shear surface waves on the corrugated surface on a turned Y-cut of quartz
Abstract
The Bragg reflection of near-surface bulk acoustic waves from a periodic structure with a sinusoidally corrugated surface is analyzed theoretically. Numerical calculations are carried out for an ST-cut of quartz; and the dispersion dependence and the coefficient of reflection from the semiinfinite structure are determined. The results of calculations are found to agree well with experimental data. The design of a SAW resonator on the basis of shear surface waves is discussed.
