Theory of a cruciform junction between rectangular and circular waveguides
Abstract
The theory of a cruciform (T-shaped) junction between rectangular and circular waveguides is developed. The method of partial problems (Butorin and Fialkovskii, 1981) is used to derive a set of linear algebraic equations with real coefficients. The solution of the general three-dimensional vector boundary value problem is considered; and the S-matrices are calculated, and the equivalent circuit of the cruciform junction is presented. A comparison between numerical and experimental results shows satisfactory quantitative agreement in a wide frequency range.
