Velocity and vorticity correlations
Abstract
An analytical method for obtaining velocity correlations from vorticity correlations is presented. The flow had to be subject to a nonslip boundary condition and cover a finite region, thus allowing consideration of only the singularity in the Green's function. The volume integral will contain an explicit expression which satisfies Poisson's equation. The velocity fluctuation vector can then be calculated as a function of the volume integral of the product of the singular part of the Green's function and the vorticity fluctuation vector.
