Ergodic Aspects of Turbulence Theory
Abstract
The ergodic theory of differentiable dynamical systems is reviewed, and applied to the Navier-Stokes equation. Using exact estimates on bound states for the Schrödinger operator one obtains upper bounds on characteristic exponents, entropy, and Hausdorff dimension of attracting sets.
