Fluctuation effects near Hc2 in type-II superconductors
Abstract
Abrikosov's mean-field theory of type-II superconductors predicts an unusual continuous freezing transition to a triangular flux lattice at Hc2. We show that fluctuations, which are negligible above d=6, drive this transition first order to lowest order in an expansion in ɛ=6-d.
