Effect of optical injection on the optical properties of a (GaAl)As semiconductor laser: Optical bistability and four wave mixing
Abstract
The optical bistability is observed and the magnitude of the nonlinear susceptibility of (GaAl)As semiconductor is estimated. The two laser experimental assembly is described. The spectral width of a semiconductor laser with optical injection is discussed. The observations of optical bistability and optical memorization are described. The linear mixing of four waves in a laser cavity is analyzed. The possibility of studying the processes in a nonlinear Fabry-Perot interferometer is demonstrated.
