VLSI structures for numerical and digital signal processing computations
Abstract
Very Large Scale Integration has sparked research into the design of parallel systems. High levels of integration make possible the creation of extremely large systems which fit in a limited area, consume little power and are cost effective for a broad set of applications. The advantages, however, do not come without price. The communication in a VLSI system is no longer for free, as in the systems designed with MSI/SSI.
