Conjugate problem of unsteady heat transfer between a laminar boundary layer and a sectioned flat plate
Abstract
The finite difference method is used to investigate the effect of jumpwise changes in the longitudinal direction of the thermophysical properties of a sectioned flat plate on the unsteady heat transfer with an incompressible laminar boundary layer. It is shown that the distributions of the heat transfer coefficient along different sections of the composite plate are different, and that the distributions for composite plates are different from those for continuous plates. This feature of the longitudinal distribution of the heat transfer coefficient on a sectioned plate is explained by a sharp change in the plate temperature gradient at the point of the discontinuity of its thermophysical properties.
