Increasing the efficiency of a gasdynamic window for the extraction of electron beams
Abstract
Test results are presented for a gas-discharge electron gun having a gasdynamic window with differential degassing designed for the extraction of an electron beam into a gas at a pressure up to 40 kPa. The possibility of increasing the efficiency of the gasdynamic window by taking advantage of the effect of a barrier layer resulting from the interaction of the gas jet with the elements of the gasdynamic window is demonstrated.
